Initiate an assessment and strategy for change outlined from the Corporate Strategy.
Define Phase: This phase creates the project charter, resource requirements and project plan to initiate the assessment.
- Conduct executive level meetings to confirm or refine the high level objectives of reengineering, target goals and the benefits that management anticipates from the reengineering effort. These are critical topics and the expectations of management in these areas must be understood. This will help to ensure that there are no misconceptions, unmet expectations, and criticisms of the outcome of the effort.
- Create project charter. This includes documenting the objective /goals/needs of the client. Also included in the charter are: timeline, costs, resource needs/skills, communication plan, document storage, reporting, timeline, costs, and decision/escalation chains. Perform initial risk assessment.
- Create a project plan.
- Final review, approval and signoff by ALL key stakeholders must be obtained to move into measure phase
- Secure all required resources and their availability and Hold kickoff meeting with assessment team.
Measure Phase: This phase is the data gathering phase required to be able perform an analysis.
- Acquire “current state” of organization for all of the areas that were identified and defined as “areas of focus”. (i.e. Business processes, organizational design and development)
- Begin data collection process
- Gather current business processes from the defined areas of opportunity.
- Hold working sessions to help understand “current state” with key subject matter experts.
- Gather benchmarking data to be used for comparison and analysis.
- Review with key stakeholders to ensure alignment to move to ANALYZE phase
Analyze Phase: This phase analyzes the data, defines a future state to be presented to the organization as recommendations.
- Perform gap analysis with the data captured in the measure phase.
- Identify core competencies in which the organization has strong knowledge base and key reasons to remain within the employee base.
- Determine opportunities of out-sourcing of non-core business processes.
- Assess global implications (when required) to support a global solution
- Assess change impact within all areas; process, people, real estate, etc…
- Define a future state to identify the changes required to meet the project goals.
- Review with key stakeholders to ensure alignment to move to IMPROVE phase
Improve Phase: This phase finalizes, refines and presents final recommendations.
- Create and Refine recommendations working with key subject matter experts
- Present formal recommendations to key stakeholders
- Refinement of “future state” as required.
- Final approval with key stakeholders to move forward into IMPLEMENTATION
- Transition and turnover of the “future state” approved plan to the implementation team.
Control Phase: This phase is ongoing throughout the lifecycle of the assessment to ensure quality and proper program/project management of scope, schedule, resources, deliverables and cost.

Implementation Approach and Methodology
The implementation of the final recommendations approved during the assessment stage.
Initiating Phase: Select project, determine project objectives, goals and needs, resource requirements, identify constraints and assumptions, and finalize project charter.
Planning Phase: Create project scope statement, finalized team, estimate cost and timeline, develop project plan with critical path and schedule, determine communication requirements, identify quality standards and perform risk identification and assessment. Acquire approval and support from key stakeholders. Hold kickoff meeting.

Executing Phase: Execute the plan, manage project progress, and project status. Identify changes, complete the work packages, distribute information and manage team development and ensure quality.
(IT Projects include Design, Build, Test, and Implementation during this phase)
Controlling Phase: Integrate change control, project performance measuring , performance reporting, scope change control, quality control, risk monitoring and control, schedule control, cost control, scope verification, ensure compliance with plan, project plan updates.
Closing Phase: Procurement audits, product verification, financial closure, lessons learned, update records, final project performance reporting, formal acceptance, release resources and close project.
